Billie Eilish posts touching tribute to brother Finneas for Happier Than Ever release date

Billie Eilish and Finneas O’Connell have worked together closely for years. To this day, the siblings have tirelessly created every song ever released by the act. Today that legacy continues with the release of Happier Than Ever, Billie’s second album made up of 16 tracks. To commemorate this momentous occasion, Billie wrote a heartfelt message on her social media accounts.

Billie told her 88.3 million followers: “Happier Than Ever, my sophomore album is finally out. I can’t even process it. This was the most fulfilling most satisfying and profound experience I’ve ever had with my music.

“Finneas and I were just on cloud 9 making this album I feel.. I love every song on this project so so much it literally scares me thinking about putting it out into the world for anyone to listen to.

“I feel like crying. I grew so much in the process of making this album and experienced so much self-realisation and self-reflection. I wish I could go back and make this album all over again because it was some of the best nights in my life.” (sic)

The 19-year-old singer then dedicated a large part of her success to her brother, Finneas.

Billie continued: “I love you @finneas thank you for being you.

“I couldn’t ask for a better brother and collaborator, you are my whole world and I couldn’t do any of this without you.” (sic)

She added: “Anyway I’m so excited and nervous and blaaah… please take care of this project, it means the world to me. I CAN’T BELIEVE ITTTT.” (sic)

It seems Happier Than Ever has already been more successful than her first album, When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go?

Billie added: “Hell yeah. I hope it doesn’t disappoint.”

She then explained: “I really want to not make [my fans] feel like I’m gone because I’m not. I’m right here, and I’ve been here the whole time.

“I think that the hard thing is that we haven’t done shows. I haven’t had a way to actually prove to them that I’m still theirs.

“And I think that that’s tough and I think that it’s made them go crazy, and I totally understand it. And I feel the same. It’s made me go crazy too.”

Billie’s positive experience with recording her new album is vastly different to the recording of her first.

The Grammy Award winner previously revealed she “hated” recording her debut.

She said: “I hated every second of it. I hated writing. I hated recording. I literally hated it.

I would’ve done anything else. I remember thinking: ‘There’s no way I’m making another album after this. Absolutely not.'” (Via Rolling Stone)
