Why the Canary Islands should be on your radar for a holiday in autumn

In fact, for those who aren’t tied to the school holidays, you may want to hold off until autumn when there are smaller crowds but the atmosphere is still vibrant and the weather still balmy. We take a look at why the Canaries should be on your radar for a holiday later in the year…

Year round sunshine: The Canaries boast balmy and sunny weather throughout the year. Even in the winter although temperatures drop these tend to remain around 20C, ideal for doing some exploring.

Beautiful beaches: No matter which island it is you’re visiting, there are beautiful beaches to be found. For example, Tenerife has those picture-perfect golden beaches, while Lanzarote’s picturesque volcanic landscapes can make for some breathtaking shores to explore on a leisurely stroll.

Volcanic landscapes: Those who don’t want to spend a few hours lazing on a beach won’t be disappointed with the Canaries, thanks to the dramatic volcanic landscapes that make up the rest of the scenery. There’s Mount Teide in Tenerife which you can explore either on a hike or using the handy cable car, while in Lanzarote – dubbed the Island of Volcanoes – you could spend hours exploring the breathtaking Timanfaya National Park made up of volcanic soil.

The attractions: You won’t be stuck on things to see and do no matter which island you visit. We’re talking everything from historic Old Towns to bustling promenades filled with bars and restaurants, as well as water parks, beautiful beaches and hiking trails.
