Phillip Schofield’s surprise cameo in Prince Harry series as royal recalls Oprah backlash

This Morning host Phillip was featured in a segment of the new show as Prince Harry discussed his and Meghan Markle’s landmark interview.

The pair appeared in March in a broadcast interview with Oprah as they discussed their exit from the Royal Family.

Now, Prince Harry has spoken out about the media’s reaction to it.

During his new documentary series for Apple TV+ called The Me You Can’t See, he opened up about this.

Several other clips were also used to illustrate the response to their interview as well as This Morning

The new Apple TV+ series is produced by Oprah and Prince Harry and focuses on telling mental health truths.

The show features interviews with both of them, as well as other stars.

Among those included are Lady Gaga, Glenn Close and the San Antonio Spurs basketball player DeMar DeRozan.

Earlier this week, Phillip spoke out in defence of Prince Harry following his latest podcast appearance.

The Duke of Sussex had been a guest on Dax Shepherd’s Armchair Expert.

Speaking about his appearance on the show, Phillip said many of his quotes had been taken out of context.

He said on This Morning: “I went into it thinking, “Oh shut up Harry” but I came out of it thinking, ‘Good on you’.

“I thought he was very eloquent when he spoke about mental health.”

Phillip continued: “But he also said he’s damned if he does and damned if he doesn’t because no matter what he says, the headlines are cruel, there’s no support for him whatsoever.”

The Me You Can’t See is available to watch on Apple TV+ now.
