Call of Duty Warzone update: Cold War mid-season patch news and trailer

Activision has provided a couple of tasty teasers this week to help launch the next Call of Duty Warzone and Cold War updates.

The Mid-Season patch is scheduled to be released later this week, with new content going live across both games on May 20.

However, before that date, there are a few things that COD fans will want to check out.

First, there is the new Call of Duty Warzone and Cold War trailer that will help build the excitement.

The 80’s Action Heroes Trailer for Season Three for Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War & Warzone will be available to watch later today.

This is expected to focus on the new Rambo and John McClane skins that will be available to buy on May 20.

These will be part of the new Cold War Mid-Season update, with the new Call of Duty trailer set to go live at around 5pm BST.

Other heroes and 80s cosmetics are expected to be revealed as part of the new trailer, which might also help tease new content.

We already know that there is going to be more Zombies action via Outbreak mode later this week, with developers Treyarch confirming:

“Black Ops Cold War Zombies is primed to kick into high gear next week with the launch of our first Main Quest in Outbreak starting at 10AM PT on Thursday, May 20th! From there, we’re looking forward to releasing a record amount of quest-driven Zombies content as we gear up for the next chapters of the Dark Aether story.

“With our upcoming Outbreak Main Quests in both Seasons Three and Four, the events unfolding in the Ural Mountains will directly set up the story for our next round-based map. If you haven’t jumped into Outbreak lately – or if you’ve been looking for a new reason to kill a few thousand zombies with your friends – now’s the time.”

There will also be new content coming to Call of Duty Warzone, although this might be more limited due to how the start of Season 3 was so focused on the new Verdansk map.

The good news for gamers on PS4 consoles is that they can pre-download the new Call of Duty Cold War Mid-Season update now.

The new patch weighs in at around 11GB and will be available to install at 9PM PDT on May 18 (5am BST on May 19).

Warzone is expected to receive its own update on May 19 (May 20 in the UK), which should pave the way for the launch of the Call of Duty Mid-Season 3 patch.

More news regarding this week’s Call of Duty updates are expected to be shared by Activision in the coming hours.
