Needing a 1-0 win to reach the Europa League final, an uninspiring Gunners performance against Villarreal saw Arteta’s team crash out of the semi-finals after a goalless draw, meaning their chances of qualifying for European competition next season are all but over.
West Brom, however, need to win at the Emirates to keep their tiny chances of Premier League survival alive – they are 10 points off 17th-placed Burnley with just 12 to play for.
