Andrew Yang to snag endorsement of prominent Jewish pols in Brooklyn

Andrew Yang will soon get some high-profile endorsements from Jewish leaders in his race for mayor, his campaign told The Post.

Among the machers signing on to the Yang Gang are Brooklyn state Assemblyman Simcha Eichenstein, City Councilman Kalman Yeger and a slew of prominent local rabbis.

An endorsement ceremony had been planned for Sunday, but was delayed until sometime later in the week as the Brooklyn Jewish community mourns the 45 people killed in a stampede in Israel, the Yang campaign confirmed.

“Getting Kalman Yeger and Simcha Eichenstein is a really big deal as we head into the homestretch. They talked with Andrew and decided to postpone public endorsement out of respect for events in Israel. But we are excited to welcome them to Team Yang this week,” a campaign insider told The Post.

The endorsements are a big win for Democratic Yang, who is looking to bolster Jewish support in Brooklyn, and will likely sting Borough President Eric Adams, a fellow Dem and Yang’s chief rival in the race.

Frontrunner Yang raised eyebrows among religious Jews for his personal opposition to circumcision, and the close associations between his co-campaign manager and accused antisemitic activist Linda Sarsour.
