Meghan Markle and Prince Harry ‘won’t last,’ claims royal expert

The British do great funerals. Prince Philip’s farewell again demonstrated the majesty of Her Majesty.

One comment to me: “While invoking Jesus in his simple robe, the prelates flashed more gold braid and embroidery than Gucci couture.”

Lady Colin Campbell writes about royalty. Books on Diana, and last year — in the UK and USA — her searing “Meghan and Harry: The Real Story” chopped Me-Me-Meghan. Sunday she told me from London: “She and Harry won’t last. Once she became the royal Duchess of Sussex, it was off with everyone’s head.

“Disconnected from reality, she lost it. She froths at the mouth when my name is mentioned. But nothing she can do because I made no legal mistakes. With all I stated about her — her background, how she learned about him — I am legally OK.

“Since fallout from the Oprah piece, her name’s mud throughout the Commonwealth, even in the islands. This wrong-footed woman stated untruths. She couldn’t keep her mouth shut. Knowing some statements could not be massaged into reality, Harry went along. Not pleased, he knew they were not true. They were not already married three days before the big wedding. There’s a difference between fact and fiction. He knows the difference in a real ceremony. As did the Archbishop of Canterbury.”

Suppose he ever wishes to come back officially?

“No matter how disagreeable, the Crown handles situations. They’ll wait until the situation crystallizes. For now dignity and politesse rule the situation. She’s picked America and a communal property state and has two children. She’s got him. Difficult for him to get out. He’s entrapped.

“Returning, London would act polite. Be received politely. Treated with respect. The Establishment, however, will treat him as a pariah.”

I knew it, J.Lo

Enough with Rodriguez and Lopez. Letter writers admit that I said repeatedly — months ago — they’d never marry. I knew it. I knew lots. I knew she craved whatever he was giving her. I knew he needed whatever he got from her. Business for both. It spelled BS. Orgiastic for publicity, now pushing pros for even more public relations — which I also know — she won’t be happy until her behind, retouched or not, is on fire hydrants. Meanwhile, she’ll tumble with yet another guy. Another temp. Even maybe not one as exemplary, upstanding and pure as the latest, newest, most recent former truth-wrestler Rodriguez who, it’s rumored, might now be onto younger bones.

‘Father’ and ‘Son’

Following an Oscar nom for Anthony Hopkins playing dementia in “The Father,” comes playwright Florian Zeller’s next — “The Son” with Hugh Jackman and Laura Dern. No “Ziegfeld Follies” type thing, it’s about adolescent depression . . . Reel Works 20th anniversary gala honoring Issa Rae May 26 makes possible for young filmmakers to envision a future, have their stories matter and voices heard. Gabourey Sidibe, Hasan Minhaj, Emily Mortimer and Fisher Stevens were previous honorees.

Yum . . . thanks

Israel’s Independence Day last week brought memories. I was there in its earliest days of pioneers Menachem Begin, Moshe Dayan, Golda Meir. A rough frontier country — equal to our covered wagon days. Food and water was rationed. Because my husband was fund-raising bonds for Israel, a sheik invited us — for food — to the Negev. Then an arid empty desert. He honored me with their equal of a VIP tasty. The eye of a dead sheep. I hid it in a pocket.

With things in our country bad enough, comes the thought that Biden showed up for work today.

Maybe thought only in New York, kids, only in New York.
