DMX, the critically acclaimed and beloved rapper, is still in the hospital after collapsing at his home on April 2. The It’s Dark and Hell Is Hot artist, 50, is currently in the ICU and his rep offered longtime fans an update on his health on April 4. “Last night Earl ‘DMX’ Simmons was rushed to the hospital after collapsing at home. At this time he remains in ICU in critical condition,” his rep shared. “Earl has been a warrior his entire life. This situation represents yet another road he must conquer.”
Naturally, DMX’s family has been by his side as much as possible, while also adhering to the COVID-19 protocols that are in place as they visit him. “On Friday night, April 2nd, 2021, our brother, son, father, and colleague DMX, birth name of Earl Simmons, was admitted to White Plains (NY) Hospital, facing serious health issues,” a statement from his family read. “We ask that you please keep Earl/DMX and us in your thoughts, wishes, and prayers as well as respect our privacy as we face these challenges.” DMX’s family, including some of his 15 children, have been keeping the rapper company during this difficult time and asking for support from fans. Xavier
DMX was married to Tashera Simmons from 1999-2014. Together, the former couple welcomed four children together — three sons and one daughter. The couple’s eldest is Xavier Simmons who is roughly 28 years old. The couple welcomed their son prior to their marriage. Xavier is definitely following in his father’s footsteps. The 28-year-old is an artist who recently made a movie, according to his Instagram account.
Tacoma
DMX and Tashera’s second child together is their 21-year-old son Tacoma Simmons. Tacoma describes himself as a “musical composer,” per his private Instagram account. Tacoma started college in the fall of 2019, and he is pictured above wearing a T-shirt that reads Whittier College.
Sean
DMX and Tashera’s third child together is son Sean Simmons. Sean is about 18 years old. Although he does not have any public social media accounts, his adoring mom celebrated her son’s birthday on June 10, 2020, featuring a photo of her son, which you can see above.
Praise Mary Ella
DMX and Tashera’s four and last child they welcomed together is their precious daughter, Praise Mary Ella Simmons. Praise is 15 years old and, like two of her older brothers, has limited social media, including a private Instagram account. But her beloved mom often shares sweet photos of her, including this carousel post featuring Praise throughout different points of her life.
Sonovah Junior
One of the children DMX welcomed outside of his marriage to Tashera is 12-year-old Sonovah Junior. The youngster is also following in her dad’s footsteps, and released a song entitled “I Hate Zoom.” Her mother appears to run her social media accounts, which boast a few thousand followers.
Aaliyah
In 2011, DMX welcomed his baby girl Aaliyah, now roughly 10 years old. Upon introducing her to the world in August 2011, the rapper revealed the touching story behind her name. “It’s my newest baby and I named her after Aaliyah because that’s how special she was to me.” The youngster is named after the beloved singer, who tragically died in an airplane crash in August 2001. DMX and Aaliyah collaborated together on a number of occasions, and while introducing his baby girl on the August 2011 episode of 106 & Park, DMX referred to his Romeo Must Die co-star as an “angel.”
Exodus
DMX welcomed his son Exodus in 2016 with fiancée Desiree Lindstrom. Exodus is roughly five years old, and the 15th child of DMX. Following his January 2019 release from Gilmer Federal Correctional Institution in West Virginia, after serving a one year sentence for tax evasion, DMX was thrilled to be reunited with his little boy, pictured with the rapper above.
Child With Monique Wayne
In 2004, it was revealed through DNA testing that DMX fathered a child with Monique Wayne. This occurred during his marriage to Tashera Simmons. For some time, DMX seemingly denied paternity of the child, whose identity is still not widely known. But in 2008, four years after the youngster’s birth, the rapper was ordered to pay Monique $1.5 million, per the New York Post.
Two Children With Yadira Borrego
DMX also shares two children with ex Yadira Borrego. The former couple’s son is 11 years old, but their daughter’s age is not widely known. Since DMX’s hospitalization, Yadira has posted a few photos of DMX and his youngsters to her Instagram page. One photo featured DMX on stage with his two kids while performing in 2019 in Fort Lauderdale. “Minor set back for a Major come back ! God got You, Your family got you, The kids got you, I got you !! The World got You!! Let’s go,” Yadira captioned the image, adding prayer hand emojis.
Other Children
During their appearance on the VH1 series Couple’s Therapy in 2012, Tashera and DMX discussed his numerous extra-marital affairs over the course of their roughly 15-year marriage. That same year, Tashera spoke with Essence and revealed that DMX had welcomed a number of children out of the wedlock.
