Adil Ray confirmed to replace Piers Morgan on Good Morning Britain throughout April

Piers Morgan, 56, quit his role on Good Morning Britain earlier this month after he clashed with co-host Alex Beresford over his comments to the interview Meghan Markle gave with chat show host, Oprah Winfrey. Since then, there have been plenty of names rumoured to replace Piers on the breakfast show, although, Adil has now revealed that he will be joining Susanna throughout April.

The most recent rumour for Piers’ replacement was that Susanna was going to present GMB as a solo host.

Other names thrown into the mix is Alex Beresford and Ben Shephard, who regularly co-present the programme.

However, on Saturday Adil confirmed with his Instagram followers that he was stepping in to co-host GMB.

Sharing a snap of himself sat at the GMB news desk, Adil penned: “Some news for you… I will be co-hosting @GMB throughout the whole of April Mon to Weds, staring this Monday with @kategarray and with @susannareid100 after the hols.” (sic)

After Piers’ exit on March 9, Adil has filled in to co-host the show alongside Susanna in March.

Alex Beresford and Ranvir Singh have also stepped in fill Piers’ shoes.

On Good Friday, Alex and Charlotte Hawkins were on hand to give GMB viewers the latest headlines.

However, despite a packed schedule, viewers weren’t impressed with Charlotte and Alex, declaring they were switching channels.

It comes after ITV Chief Kevin Lygo said Piers Morgan was “irreplaceable” on Good Morning Britain.

He told Deadline: “Piers is a special thing. You can’t replace somebody like him.

“There is nobody like Piers, for good or bad.”

He added they have a roster of presenters who are “stepping up” and “doing more days” to help cover Piers.

Good Morning Britain airs daily at 6am on ITV.
