Victims in Orange, California, shooting identified by family members

Family members have identified the four people slaughtered in a California office building — including 9-year-old Matthew Farias, who died in the arms of his injured mother, according to reports.

The mom, Blanca Tamayo, remained hospitalized in critical condition late Thursday, KTLA reported, citing relatives.

The other victims were Luis Tovar, who owned the Unified Homes mobile home business where the rampage took place, his daughter Jenevieve Raygoza and Leticia Solis, Tovar’s surviving daughter told the news outlet.

It is believed that Tamayo, who was found clutching her tragic son, also worked at the business, according to the report.

“It appears that a little boy died in his mother’s arms, and she was trying to save him during this horrific massacre,” Orange County District Attorney Todd Spitzer told reporters Thursday.

A GoFundMe page set up for the victims said Tamayo was shot twice in the head and in critical condition.

Solis’ connection to the business complex wasn’t immediately clear.

Tovar’s daughter Vania Tovar told the Orange County Register that the 50-year-old man left behind five children and six grandchildren and was “the backbone of our entire family.”

“Our world is shattered,” the 28-year-old woman told the newspaper. “My dad was the most amazing dad and grandfather. He supported every single one of us in a time of need.”

Vania said her dad and his wife — her stepmother Karla Reynoso-Tovar – both owned the business, which sells manufactured homes.

“They are an amazing power couple,” she said. “Karla is a very hardworking mother. She ran the real estate side, and he ran construction side.”

Vania said the couple recently tied the knot after a long relationship.

“They were happily married and happily together for the time they’ve been together,” Vania said. “There have never been any issues. We love Karla.”

The grieving daughter said her father graduated in 1990 from Anaheim High School, where he was elected prom king.

She described him as “extremely outgoing, but serious when he needed to be. He was hilarious. He was everything.”

She added: “He was very active in sports with us our entire lives. My dad was a soccer coach when we were younger… (He) coached me and my two sisters.”

At the time of her interview with the Register, the family had not yet gotten word about her 28-year-old sister, Raygoza, who was reportedly among the dead victims.

Vania said Raygoza has two young children and was devoted to her family.

“She was the most selfless woman, who cared so deeply for everyone else. The most important thing in the world to her were her children. Everything in her life was done for her husband and children,” she told the paper.

Vania, who has a 5-year-old daughter and 1-year-old son, said she has not told her girl about the tragedy.

“The only way to calm myself is to take deep breaths. We’re surrounded by loved ones right now. It’s coming in waves. We’re out of tears. We don’t know what to do,” she told the Register.

Meanwhile, another of Tovar’s daughters, Thalia, said in a social media post that the suspect, identified as Aminadab Gaxiola Gonzalez, was one of her dad’s former employee’s “abusive & jealous ex husband.”

Gonzalez arrived at the building in a rental car that was found at the parking lot of the complex, KTLA reported, citing police. He is believed to have been living in an Anaheim motel room.

He suffered critical injuries in what officials described as a “police-involved shooting” during his arrest, which was caught on dramatic video showing him being dragged from the property in Orange by a group of officers.
