After sitting in the main chair, Alex was spotted liking a tweet that read “good things come to when you’re not a p****”.
And while some enjoyed the change Alex brought to the show, others thought it was too soon for him to be sitting in Piers’ seat especially after the row they had on-air the day Piers quit.
Someone on Twitter said: “Is it just me that feels particularly annoyed that Alex Beresford is now sitting in Piers Morgan’s seat? Method in the madness? Not amused!”
“Please no, not Alex. The weatherman in place of Piers is such an insult,” a fan commented, while another added: “Feel @GMB are being totally disrespectful to @piersmorgan – seriously the weatherman trying to present and with a hula hoop.”
“Ouch! Alex has taken Piers’ seat on GMB. Final nail etc,” a tweet read.
One more said: “Just switched on to see Alex Beresford in Piers Morgan’s seat? I wonder how long he has wanted that?? Since when does a weatherman have the right credentials to be a respected newsreader! I can only assume it’s to appease the Meghan supporters. Shameful after his behaviour!”
