Piers Morgan responds after Jason Manford claims he was 'out of order' with Meghan remarks

Piers Morgan, 55, has tweeted back Jason Manford, 39, who appeared sceptical of the outspoken broadcaster’s opinions, particularly his latest view on Meghan Markle’s interview with Oprah Winfrey. The former Good Morning Britain host has said he “didn’t believe” the Duchess of Sussex had suffered suicidal thoughts while a senior member of the Royal Family.

On Twitter, Jason had shared a link to Piers’ latest article discussing his exit from GMB, after he refused to apologise over his comments about Meghan.

Alongside the piece he typed in view of his 373,700 followers: “I always think it’s a good idea to read all sides. I don’t agree with Piers over the Meghan thing at all, think he was out of order, but when he quit GMB, nobody cheered more than the politicians who no longer have anyone to ask the hard questions,” he added.

Piers shared the post from Jason and said the star was entitled to his “own opinion”.

“Fair enough… I respect your right to have a different opinion to me,” the former GMB host stated.

One petition is titled: “Keep Piers Morgan on GMB for his common-sense approach to life.”

While another reads simply: “BRING BACK Piers Morgan!”

A third pleaded: “Save Piers Morgan from being sacked from GMB.”

While a fourth demanded: “Bring Piers Morgan back to GMB.”

A fifth said: “Resignation not accepted! Bring back Piers Morgan to GMB.”

It comes after Piers had clashed with GMB weatherman Alex Beresford, over his remarks on Meghan following her landmark interview with Oprah.

Alex had called Piers “diabolical” before the latter walked off the set.

Meghan had told Oprah during the televised interview earlier this month, that at one point she had “no longer wanted to be alive” during 2019 before stepping down from royal duties in 2020.

However, Piers maintained he did not believe “a word of it” which resulted in him clashing with Alex and subsequently handing in his resignation to ITV.
