Emmerdale's Adam Thomas and son, 6, 'shaken up' after being 'attacked' by thief in street

Former Emmerdale star Adam Thomas, 32, who played Adam Barton in the ITV soap, is said to have been approached outside his restaurant The Spinn in Gatley, Manchester over the weekend by a thief who tried to wrestle the bike off the star, according to reports. The former Dales regular was said to be with his six-year-old son Teddy at the time of the alleged incident.

Prices for the fold-up bike are said to start around £1,500.

No one was said to be hurt and staff members at the restaurant were on hand to retrieve the bike.

“Adam got the electric bike so he could start doing deliveries around town,” a source said told The Sun.

“Lockdown has been hard on everyone and he wanted to do what he could to help his restaurant and he was really excited to have Teddy with him.

Speaking out about his move into the hospitality industry, Adam explained the venture was something he had wanted for a long time.

“We’ve been wanting to do this for years, even when we were at school we talked about opening our own place,” he told ilovemanchester.com.

Adam added: “We found a location that we fell in love with, and so when we were on a bit of a night out and ended up in a casino, we said we’d do a spin on the roulette and if we win we’ll go for it.

“We didn’t win much money – it was more the significance of the bet to finally do this and it gave us that last push. That’s why we’ve named the restaurant The Spinn.”
