Currys PS5 priority pass arrives ahead of ‘huge’ PlayStation 5 stock drop

The Currys PS5 Priority Pass has been released before what could be a big PlayStation 5 restock later this week.

Currys has been one of the main suppliers of next-gen consoles in the UK but has also faced huge technical challenges too.

Site crashes and long queues have left many customers unable to complete their purchase, with PS5 stock running out before they have had a chance to checkout.

But the next PS5 stock drop from Curry could be very different, following the reveal of a new Priority Pass.

The Currys PS5 Priority Pass was announced this week and will make it possible to register your interest in buying a next-gen console.

It gives individuals the chance to buy one PS5 console from a group of people who are selected by random.

It means that gamers don’t have to wait up until the late hours to get a chance at buying a console, as they will receive an email telling them if they have been successful or not.

The ballot system has been used by other UK retailers to use a lottery to distribute next-gen consoles, with Currys the latest.

The difference here is that you’re signing up to buy a console from a local Currys retailer, rather than a digital restock.

And it provides an additional option for gamers hoping to grab a new console in March 2021, when it is safe to visit retail stores.

It should be noted that if you are selected for a Priority Pass, this will enable you to buy a console with a unique code for 72-hours.

After this point, the Priority Pass will be given to someone else, with Currys telling gamers this week:

“Register for a PS5 Priority Pass for a chance to buy a PS5 at one of our selected stores.

Strictly one entry per person. We’ll let you know as soon as we get stock and are allowed to open up safely.”

Here’s what you need to do to apply for your Priority Pass:

1. Fill out your details below and wait for us to get in touch.

2. We’ll select lucky entrants at random and email a Priority Pass to them. This will contain a unique PS5 buying code, along with details of the local Currys PC World store to buy the PS5 from.

3. PS5 passes will be valid for 72 hours. So if you get one, be quick.

If you’re a lucky entrant, we’ll email you a Priority Pass containing your own unique PS5 buying code.

The Currys PS5 Priority Pass has been announced ahead of what could be a big digital stock drop from the retailer.

Stock tracker accounts believe that Currys will join the likes of John Lewis and Very in offering more stock before the end of March.

We have no date for when this will happen, but UK gamers hope it will be kicking off this week.

Here’s the latest guidance from the PS5 Instance stock tracker account on Twitter:

“Another week of drops, expecting John Lewis, AO and Very to release this week. Currys are currently processing huge PS5 drop.

“Currys is taking registration for PS5 priority passes. They’re randomly selecting customers who will get a reservation for a PS5 in store. Likely this will be heavily botted, but worth a shot.”
