Rita Simons ‘desperate for operation’ as scoliosis worsens ‘I’m in a whole world of pain'

Former EastEnders star Rita Simons, 43, said she is eager to go under the knife in a bid to ease the pain. Scoliosis is where the spine twists and curves to the side. It can affect people of any age, from babies to adults, but most often starts in children aged 10 to 15, as stated by the NHS.

The actress said: “I hate my scoliosis with a passion. It’s definitely getting worse and it makes everything I wear weird.

“I had an X-ray not that long ago and my spine is a big old S now, and I’m in a whole world of pain most of the time.”

Rita said she “works outs” everyday as “it’s important to keep training in the right way”.

As well as this, the actress added she does lots of physio and strengthening to help with the pain.

They add that most people with scoliosis are able to live normal lives and can do most activities, including exercise and sports.

In 2018, Rita also opened up about her battle with OCD, ADHD, anxiety and insomnia.

The mother-of-two said the “worst” of it all is when she can’t sleep and is left staring at the wall.

“It is awful, it is like torture,” she told the Daily Star Sunday. “Sometimes it feels like I don’t sleep for days. It’s horrible.”
