Cloris Leachman died from a stroke, COVID-19 also a factor

Just weeks after Cloris Leachman passed away, her cause of death has been announced.

The 94-year-old actress died from a stroke, her death certificate revealed, according to Entertainment Tonight. COVID-19 was also listed as a significant condition that contributed to her death but was not the underlying cause.

A rep for the San Diego Medical Examiner didn’t immediately return Page Six’s request for comment.

The “The Mary Tyler Moore Show” star was cremated on Feb. 7, and her remains are being kept at her daughter Dinah Englund’s residence in Encinitas, Calif.

The beloved Oscar winner died on Jan. 27, her longtime manager Juliet Green confirmed to Page Six at the time.

“It’s been my privilege to work with Cloris Leachman, one of the most fearless actresses of our time,” Green told Page Six in a statement. “There was no one like Cloris. With a single look she had the ability to break your heart or make you laugh ’till the tears ran down your face. You never knew what Cloris was going to say or do and that unpredictable quality was part of her unparalleled magic.”

Green added that she “loved her children and her grandchildren ferociously” and was “a lifelong vegetarian” and “passionate advocate for animal rights.”

Leachman passed away at her home with Englund by her side.
