Fulham striker Aleksander Mitrovic has tested positive for coronavirus, manager Scott Parker has revealed.

The Cottagers’ forward will miss their Premier League clash with Everton on Sunday after returning a positive test for covid-19.

Parker’s promoted side find themselves deep in the relegation zone with next week’s matches crucial in their bid for Premier League survival.

Fulham’s woes have been partly down to their lack of goals from their attackers, with Mitrovic suffering from a very long goal drought having not scored since September 19 for the club.

The Serbian international has found himself coming off the bench at times this season, with Bobby Decordova-Reid and Ivan Cavaleiro also fighting for the striker position at Craven Cottage.

Mitrovic was also one of several high profile topflight players who breached coronavirus protocols over the festive period.

The 26-year-old was pictured with Crystal Palace midfielder Luka Milivojevic at New Year’s, as other Premier League stars from Tottenham, West Ham and Manchester City were also pictured ignoring the rules.
