Carol Kirkwood reacts to unhappy fan who exclaims 'that's just rude' after snow update

BBC Breakfast weather star Carol Kirkwood has issued an amber warning to Britons across the UK, as strong winds will lead to below freezing temperatures. It comes as Storm Darcy, which has since been branded the new Beast From The East, has brought heavy snow across most parts of the country.

But one viewer was taken aback by Carol’s recent weather forecast, after the meteorologist warned that temperatures would hit minus degree levels.

The person in question took to Twitter and penned: “Did @carolkirkwood just say it was going to feel like -8 in #ChannelIslands? What’s THAT all about? And no snow? That’s just rude!”

Carol took the opportunity to assure the social media user that it was possible that the Channel Islands could see some snowfall.

In view of her 206,000 followers, the meteorologist assured: “You MAY see some snow later today!”

It comes after Carol’s weather forecast on BBC Breakfast warned of potential snow showers.

She explained: “We’ve had an array of snow showers come in from the east.

“There will be some sunshine but something else. It will be particularly windy across the English Channel and across the Channel Islands.”

Carol continued: “We will have gusts here of 48mph which is threatening some snow in Cornwall and also in the Channel Islands later on.

DON’T MISS…

“The wind will be the strongest in the southwest and in the Channel Islands.”

She concluded: “Maybe -8C or even -10C. Not quite Canada’s standards. But still, for us, that’s cold.”

Meanwhile, Carol expressed her concerns to her BBC Breakfast co-star Dan Walker earlier this week.

It comes after the broadcaster asked the meteorologist to take part in a TikTok which saw three dancers perform a routine to the BBC News soundtrack.

Taking to the micro-blogging site to share the hilarious video, he captioned the post: “Well that’s Monday morning sorted.

“Fancy it @louiseminchin, @carolkirkwood, @sallynugent, @NinaWarhurst?”

Carol replied with a stream of laughing emojis as she declined to take part in the dance routine.

BBC Breakfast airs daily on BBC One at 6am.
