Death in Paradise: How will Sara Martins return? BBC releases first look

Death in Paradise fans are excited to see Sara Martins return as Camille Bordey in the latest season of the show. She’ll be appearing in the new episodes later this week in a special storyline teased by the series stars. Here’s everything you need to know about this and your first look at her in action.

How will Sara Martins return to Death in Paradise?

The last time Martins appeared in Death in Paradise was in season four, episode four.

Viewers will remember how she was offered an undercover job working in Paris and decided to leave island life behind.

Her exit also ended her will they or won’t they romance with Humphrey Goodman (played by Kris Marshall) as the pair shared a final kiss.

She will now be returning to the show for the special storyline in the anniversary season.

Key also revealed how he persuaded Martins and her former co-star Ben Miller to return to the show in the new season.

The producer continued: “I went and visited before COVID-19, back in those distant days.

“I met with Sara and I met with Ben and spoke to them about whether they would be willing to give us some time to come back and be part of our 10th year.

“Both of them agreed very, very quickly. I think both felt they had some unfinished business with the show and both sort of wanted to be part of [it].

“We’ve all stayed in touch and they both wanted to be part of our 10th year.”

The BBC has also released some new pictures of her in action on the island of Saint Marie.

These don’t reveal too much about how she will be back on the island but they do confirm she’ll be working with the team once again.

Some of the pictures show her with co-stars Ralf Little and Joséphine Jobert as her insight is needed to solve the case.

However, viewers may be concerned by one image of her sitting on the beach with her head in her hands.

Exactly what is happening here will only be revealed when the series returns to screens.

Death in Paradise airs on Thursday and Friday this week on BBC One.
