Deezer D dead: ER actor dies aged 55 after being found 'unresponsive' at California home

Deezer D, whose real name is Dearon Thompson, has reportedly died aged 55 after being found “unresponsive” at his home in Los Angeles. According to TMZ, his brother Marshawn, told the publication that his family believe a heart attack was to blame, although official cause of death has not been determined as of yet.

It wasn’t news that Thompson suffered with heart issues, having made headlines for being candid about the cardiac complications, having to undergo major heart surgery in 2009.

He told RadioOnline at the time: “I have a heart valve that is leaking and the aorta had expanded to way beyond what it is supposed to be.

“As soon as the doctor identified what was going on, he put me in here… What I was going through for the last year – that was scary. I’m fearless about the surgery.”

Thompson is best known for his role in NBC’s medical show ER, where he portrayed Malik McGrath across 190 episodes.
