Emmerdale spoilers: Aaron Dingle’s new love interest to be Mackenzie after clue dropped?

Emmerdale fans saw Aaron Dingle (played by Danny Miller) turn on his family tonight after Mackenzie Boyd (Lawrence Robb) tried to pull the wool over his eyes. In a bid to tempt the scrapyard manager into joining him and Charity Dingle (Emma Atkins) in shifting a load of stolen goods, Mackenzie flirted with Aaron, dangling the possibility of a romance. But, Aaron saw right through his devious plan leaving the newcomer furious. However, some of those watching at home think the two could end up together despite Mackenzie getting into bed with Charity and Aaron exposing him.

The actor who plays Aaron has previously spoken out about his character having a new love interest.

And Ben (Simon Lennon) was introduced – an outdoor pursuits instructor working at the HOP – who Aaron went to school with.

It soon emerged that Aaron once bullied Ben for being gay, only to find out years later his enemy and him share one thing in common; their interest in same sex.

Deeply ashamed of his past behaviour, Emmerdale viewers saw Aaron try and make amends wth Ben, hoping their connection was going to be the start of something special.

But his previous mistake was thrown in his face when Ben’s ex tormented him, and Aaron made a hasty retreated.

The newcomer hasn’t been seen since, but with Mackenzie now making a move – albeit to get Aaron on side for his dodgy deal – fans have been driven to speculation.

Walking into the cafe and sitting down opposite Aaron, Mackenzie said: “Thanks for helping us out.”

“Never could resist a damsel in distress,” Aaron replied and the newcomer continued: “I wouldn’t have said Charity was in distress.”

“I wasn’t talking about her,” those watching at home saw the scrapyard manager remark.

Thinking he was succeeding in his plan, in a later scene, Mackenzie arrived at Charity’s cottage.

“Thought I told you to stay away?” She exclaimed as he walked through her back door.

“Didn’t you get Aaron’s text?” He asked and explained: “He said to meet us here at dinner time. The buyer got cold feet, so I persuaded Aaron to shift the parts for us. Well, you told me to keep him sweet. Charity, we’re rolling in it, try and be happy about it.”

“I suppose he’ll want a cut?” Charity asked and the newcomer responded: “Well, we can’t begrudge the lad that. Beside, now he’s on board, he could be useful to us.”

Aaron then walked in and placed a £10 note down: “Right, there you go, that’s us quits. Call it compensation for your loss.

“Them parts, I might have crushed them. Alright, I did crush them. Something you need to learn about me mate, I don’t like being taken for a mug.”

Taking to Twitter to comment, one said: “Glad that Aaron  hasn’t fallen for Mackenzie  and his bs #Emmerdale.”

“Aaron was great in this episode and that’s all I need to say. #Emmerdale,” someone else remarked.

A third added: “Ha Ha Ha Well done Aaron! #Emmerdale.”

Emmerdale airs on ITV.
