Helen Skelton: On The Farm host issues apology amid backstage 'tears' and 'outburst'

Countryfile favourite Helen Skelton returned to On The Farm for the Channel 5 show’s Christmas special. The TV star took to Instagram and revealed she suffered a couple of mishaps backstage while filming the animal show alongside her co-star Jules Hudson.

The 37-year-old confessed her show boss often refuses to let the presenter share any backstage disasters on social media but gave the presenter the go-ahead this time around.

In view of her 222,000 followers, Helen shared three clips from her time On The Farm.

Her co-presenter Jules began: “Welcome back to our fabulous On The Farm Christmas special.”

As he turned towards his co-star to continue, Helen looked ahead, not uttering a word.

“Sorry,” Helen chuckled after she appeared to have forgotten her lines.

Her cheeky blunder had Jules in hysterics, as she commented: “I’m going to speak next time.”

In a second clip, Helen appeared to cheekily scold her co-presenter, Jules, after he cut-in during her segment.

She said: “Because of the current situation Carol concerts won’t be happening like they normally do.

Helen penned: “LOLS… I am not normally allowed to share any of the muck ups/ fits of giggles/outbursts/ tears/uncontrollable hysterics or accidental swear words but my boss must have been waist deep in Baileys because he said go on… share a few.

“PS On The Farm… a festive gathering is on Christmas Eve at 7.30pm. @channel5_tv there will be laughs, tears, and hopefully a lot of feel good. Thank you for watching this year.”

She continued: “I needed and appreciated the connection. Huge respect to our team @daisybeckstudios we started the year intending to make four episodes and we have ended it making about 20.

“Love and hugs team On The Farm… @thejuleshudson @jbgill @cannonhallfarm @daisybeckstudios @channel5_tv #christmastelly #christmaseve #farming #yorkshire.”
