Trent Alexander-Arnold has indirectly hit back at Jose Mourinho’s claim that the better team lost at Anfield. The Tottenham boss could not hide his frustration at the full-time whistle when he embraced Jurgen Klopp on the touchline.
The pair exchanged words before Klopp asked Mourinho to repeat himself as Mike Dean separated the two managers.
Speaking after the game, Mourinho shed light on the incident.
He told Amazon Prime: “I told him that the best team lost. He disagreed but that’s his opinion.
“By the way, if I behave the same way on the touchline like he does, I have no chance to stay there and I am out for a minute.”

JUST IN: Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp confused by misinterpretation of Jose Mourinho touchline clash
“But I thought he said to me ‘the better team lost’ and nothing about my behaviour on the touchline.
“Maybe he was just aggrieved with that afterwards. He also said that to us as well, that the better team lost tonight.”
Liverpool now go top of the table with the win and it was an impressive response to the 1-1 draw with Fulham on Sunday.
The Reds opened the scoring when Mohamed Salah’s deflected effort looped into the top corner.
Spurs then hit back shortly after when Son Heung-min finished confidently on the counter-attack.
Tottenham then had several notable chances to win the game as Steven Bergwijn hit the post.
They were made to pay late in the day when Firmino planted his header from Andy Robertson’s corner into the top of the net to seal all three points.
