Kate, William and their three children stole the show tonight even as they attended a special pantomime in the West End. The family strolled down the red carpet for the Christmassy show, beaming.
Body language expert Judi James called the family’s dynamic “fascinating”.
She told Express.co.uk: “The body language of the five Cambridges as they make their red carpet debut together is undeniably adorable and possibly a first for the Royal Family as it is rare to see top tier royals like this out together in a relaxed, natural-looking line-up.”
The Duchess and proud mother in particular appeared to relish the moment, according to the expert.
Judi said: “Kate’s hair-tossing and her wide, beaming smile suggest she’s enjoying herself as much as the children and William’s slightly swaggering walk shows he’s very much the proud father here.”

Judi went on: “The family dynamic is fascinating.
“Little Louis holds his mother’s hand and gazes, absorbed, at the elves and George is more than comfortable holding his father’s hand even though he is looking rather grown-up.”
One of the royal children in particular stole the limelight though.
Judi said: “It is Charlotte in the middle who decides to show her confidence and independence by dropping both Kate and William’s hands and walking slightly ahead with a very determined facial expression.
“William places a hand gently onto her head in a tie-sign to let her know she’s still protected and although Charlotte does partly reach back for his hand the pair miss the moment.

“Charlotte decides to adopt a striding, leg-kicking walk in what looks like an act of bravado to prove she’s still confident enough to go it alone but at the last minute, as their host comes out to greet them, we can see her hand snaking around her dad’s leg to show she really is happier knowing he’s there backing her up.”
Fans were very amused by the moment. Royal editor for the Mail on Sunday Emily Andrews wrote: “Love the way Charlotte is refusing to hold Daddy’s hand!”
Another said: “I love the glimpse of an independent streak in Charlotte when she drops Daddy’s hand to walk alone, but then later reaches for his hand and then clasps his leg when they stop. She is clearly a Daddy’s girl.”
“How lovely, Charlotte has such confidence, it’s great to see them all out together Red heartRed heartFlag of United Kingdom,” another said.
