Donald Trump claims federal probe into Hunter Biden proves he should never have been impeached

President Donald Trump on Friday called on the Supreme Court to use its power to award him a second term because the Joe Biden administration will be ‘a scandal plagued mess.’

Trump made the appeal – which stood outside even the dubious legal arguments being mustered by a Texas lawsuit seeking to overturn the election – after disclosures that Joe Biden’s son, Hunter, is under federal investigation.

Trump wrote that the revelations now make it ‘much easier’ for the high court to declare him the winner of the November election.

Trump even referring to a ‘Biden Administration’ was notable – given that he has refused to concede the election or even say he will be present on Inauguration Day.

‘Now that the Biden Administration will be a scandal plagued mess for years to come, it is much easier for the Supreme Court of the United States to follow the Constitution and do what everybody knows has to be done. They must show great Courage & Wisdom. Save the USA!!!’ Trump tweeted.

Back in September, also on Twitter, Trump wrote of ‘violence coming to the Suburbs in a Looney Biden Administration’ – but that was to warn of a hypothetical administration before the votes had been cast.

In fact the court’s nine justices will be charged with ruling on the case based on the the Constitution and how it charges states with carrying out national elections based on competing needs to protect rights and and federal powers while ensuring a fair contest.

Such a decision about whether to take or not to take the case, which could come with or without explanation, is considered imminent. The justices meet on Friday.

Trump also used the Hunter Biden news to rail against impeachment, saying the information proves that his call to the president of Ukraine was ‘perfect.’

Having pushed a suit by Texas seeking to overturn the election in four states, and with the Electoral College set to meet Monday to certify the election for Biden, Trump said the probe of Biden’s son showed he was justified when he called the president of Ukraine to push an investigation that might hurt his political rival.

The infamous July 25, 2019 phone call is where Trump asked the new head of Ukraine to ‘look into’ Biden and his son.

‘Now it turns out that my phone call to the President of Ukraine, which many, including me, have called “perfect”, was even better than that,’ Trump tweeted. ‘I predicted Biden corruption, said to call the A.G., who perhaps knew of the corruption during the impeachment hoax?’ Trump said.

The call became the subject of a whistleblower complaint that fired up the House Democratic impeachment, which resulted in Trump’s acquittal in the Senate on impeachment articles.

Trump looked back at impeachment just hours after attacking his attorney general, Bill Barr, for not putting out the information that Hunter Biden was under investigation during the campaign.

Why didn’t the Fake News Media, the FBI and the DOJ report the Biden matter BEFORE the Election. Oh well, it’s OK, we won the Election anyway – 75,000,000 VOTES!!!

The Wall Street Journal reported that Barr knew about the probes of financial and business dealings at least as far back as spring. Biden was subpoenaed by federal investigators this week. Federal prosecutors in New York are also examining Hunter’s business and financial dealings as part of a broader international investigation, according to the paper. Neither case implicates Joe Biden directly.

Trump did in fact reference Hunter Biden in his call to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, which House Democratic impeachment managers used to argue Trump was corruptly using the power of his office to try to jin up a probe that would hurt his rival.

‘There’s a lot of talk about Biden’s son, that Biden stopped the prosecution and a lot of people want to find out about that so whatever you can do with the Attorney General would be great. Biden went around bragging that he stopped the prosecution so if you ·can look into it … It sounds horrible to me,’ Trump said.

Trump on the call also referenced then-U.S. ambassador to Ukraine Marie Yavanovitch, his personal lawyer Rudy Giuliani, and Barr on the call.

‘Well, she’ s going to go through some things. I will have Mr. Giuliani give you a call and I am also going to have Attorney General Barr call and we will get to the bottom of it,’ Trump said on the call.

The Justice Department said after the call transcript became public Barr did not know Trump mentioned him until weeks later and did not contact the Ukrainians.

Trump also used Twitter to say rapid developments in a coronavirus vaccine should prevent a handover of power to Biden, who got more than 7 million more votes than Trump did in the election.

‘The Swine Flu (H1N1), and the attempt for a vaccine by the Obama Administration, with Joe Biden in charge, was a complete and total disaster. Now they want to come in and take over one of the “greatest and fastest medical miracles in modern day history.” I don’t think so!’ he wrote.
