Anthony Joshua promoter Eddie Hearn reveals Tyson Fury message

Eddie Hearn has invited Tyson Fury to attend Anthony Joshua’s heavyweight clash with Kubrat Pulev this weekend. Hearn wants Fury at ringside to promote a potential Super-fight between the two should Joshua come through unscathed.

Joshua takes on the Bulgarian at the SSE Arena, putting his WBA (Super), IBF, WBO, and IBO heavyweight titles on the line.

His promoter Hearn revealed that he has already reached out to Fury to watch the fight ‘up close’ but has yet to hear back.

“I messaged him saying ‘you’re more than welcome’ and I know DAZN were talking to him about working on the night, I know Sky were too,” said Hearn.

“Some fighters think that it feels like you’re chasing it. There’s nothing to chase. We know what the deal is.

“AJ is OK with it. With Deontay Wilder, he didn’t want him to get in the ring at his fight because he didn’t feel he really wanted the fight.

“With Fury, I think he believes he wants the fight and I’m as close as I can be to 100 per cent certain that it will happen.”

Joshua steps back in the ring for the first time in a year after regaining his titles from Andy Ruiz Jr last December.

The 31-year-old suffered a shock defeat to the same opponent in June 2019 when he was stopped in the seventh round for the first loss of Joshua’s professional career.

Joshua has hit back saying he would relish the opportunity to face his fellow Brit: “His dad has said he’s confident that he could beat me and I’m confident that I can beat Tyson Fury.

“He says he has the boxing IQ of Einstein, so I’d like to put that to the test and see how well I do.”

Fury’s last outing came in February as he comprehensively defeated Deontay Wilder in Las Vegas.

The Gypsy King captured the vacant Ring heavyweight titles as well as the WBC crown with the win.
