Former Liverpool chief executive Peter Moore has announced he will be teaming up with Hollywood actors Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney at Wrexham AFC following their takeover of the non-league team.
Moore, who spent three years at Liverpool to oversee them winning the Champions League, FIFA Club World Cup and their first ever Premier League title before leaving his role in August, revealed he will act as an advisor to the acting duo and so will not be a full-time CEO.
The 66-year-old, who has high-level experience working for Reebok, Microsoft and EA Sports, has a number of ties local to Wales having been a PE teacher at a school in Llangollen before making the permanent move out to live in the United States.

McElhenney’s Twitter post led to talk that Moore had been appointed into a role at Wrexham
Moore also became the honorary president of Gresford Athletic, a lower tier Welsh side that he once played for. The club plays games just four miles from Wrexham’s Racecourse Stadium.
But it was across the Atlantic where he was photographed poolside with McElhenney, who left supporters swooning as he wore a Wrexham AFC face mask alongside Moore, who wore a Liverpool FC mask.
‘Never get into an airplane unless you trust the people flying it,’ McElhenney, famous for US sitcom ‘It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia’ tweeted, leading to suggestions that Moore would be their first major appointment since fans voted unanimously – 98.4 per cent of Wrexham Supporters’ Trust members voted in favour – for their takeover.

But Moore provided clarity in two follow-up tweets.
He wrote: ‘I marveled at Albert Kinsey’s nose for goal, idolized the brick wall that was Eddie May, was in awe of the midfield ace Arfon Griffiths, and reveled in the % commitment of Joey Jones. Delighted to be able to help @RMcElhenney and @VancityReynolds get @Wrexham_AFC back again.
‘I’ll provide help as an advisor to the club that gave me so many great moments in the historic seasons of the 70s, and to the community in which I lived before leaving for the US…not be as an employee or in a full-time capacity, but just as someone that wants to give back.’
