Ant and Dec share 'exclusive sneak peak' of Beverly Callard's updated I'm A Celeb letter

I’m A Celebrity 2020 star Beverley Callard, 63, left fans stunned when she casually referred to her husband Jon McEwan as “megashag”. And forever the jokers, Ant and Dec knew exactly how to carry it on.

After the revelation on Saturday night’s instalment, the Geordie duo certainly didn’t let the hilarious nickname pass them by, urging viewers to get the phrase trending on Twitter.

And on Sunday, they followed it up with the only way they know how – more humour.

Taking to the social media platform once again after the show had ended, the boys posted from their shared account: “Exclusive sneak peak at Bev’s letter from home #ImACeleb.”

Alongside the post was a meme from the popular children’s TV show Spongebob, who was holding a scroll that Ant and Dec had covered with their own message.

But while the ITV show maybe bringing the laughs here and there, just two weeks after the Welsh series’ debut there was a recorded huge drop in figures for the first elimination.

Famous for its iconic campmate rivalries, this year all the celebrities have uncharacteristically bonded.

The show’s launch saw 14.3 million viewers tune in for the campmates’ arrival in the castle.

The episode, which aired on November 15, was the its biggest ever launch but according to reports, on average 8.1 million viewers tuned in to watch Paralympian Hollie Arnold become the first celebrity to be eliminated from the series on November 27.

The drop of 6.2 million viewers is being blamed on the show’s “nice” bunch of campmates as ITV sources told the Mail Online the show intended to be “nicer” this year because of the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

The broadcaster pointed out an extra 1.2 million people tuned in to Friday’s elimination compared with the same episode last year.

“It’s clear that this year’s I’m A Celebrity is hugely popular with audiences,” a source told the Mail Online, but fans were quick to notice the differences between this year’s campmates and previous tension-riddled years.

I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here! continues on ITV tonight at 9pm.
