PSG’s win over Leipzig in the same evening leaves United three points clear of the group with just a point needed from their final two matches to progress to the next round.
But Solskjaer insists he will be pushing his players to finish top of their group.
“We need one point, but of course we want to be top of the group but we’ll take it one game at a time,” he said.
“I felt that in the first-half, you saw straight away, the intent, the boys wanted to play.
“They enjoyed it, it’s a Champions League night at home at Old Trafford, you expect them to enjoy themselves.
“We created some great chances and very nice goals, very pleased.
“When you are 3-0 up and you take your foot off the pedal a little bit, you give them something to play for and they enjoyed the second-half more than the first.
