Hirst’s words will come as a relief for fans who have been waiting since February of this year to find out Bjorn Ironside’s fate after Ivar’s shocking ambush in the midseason finale.
It’s now looking hopeful that the series will begin again on the History Channel at some point in January or February, with episodes arriving the following day on Amazon Prime Video.
US fans can also find the rest of the series on Hulu, with new instalments usually arriving all at once a few months after the original broadcast.
Vikings season 6 will return in 2021 on History and Amazon Prime Video.
FIVE DATES is released worldwide for digital download on Windows & Mac via Steam, PS4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch on 17 November.
