US Army horror: Four soldiers killed in attack at Deir Ezzor, Syria

According to the Syrian SANA Agency, the four soldiers were killed after their vehicle was targeted with an explosive device on Al-Hasakah Road in Deir Ezzor in Syria. ASB News reported the incident happened while they were travelling between the illegal US occupied Al-Shaddadi and Al-Omar bases.

Other reports claimed the bomb attack was allegedly carried out by the Islamic State (ishid).

Journalist Robert Fisk tweeted: “Four American soldiers were killed in Syria.

“The handmade bomb attack is allegedly carried out by the Islamic State (ishid).

“There is no confirmation from the official agency of IS yet, it is not possible to verify the hot and hot communication as before due to security or strategic reasons.”

Back in September, the US ramped up its military presence in Syria following a number of skirmishes with the Russian army.

US officials said six Bradley Fighting Vehicles and about 100 troops were part of the deployment to north-east Syria.

US Navy Captain Bill Urban said at the time: “The United States does not seek conflict with any other nation in Syria, but will defend Coalition forces if necessary.

“These actions and reinforcements are a clear signal to Russia to adhere to mutual de-confliction processes and for Russia and other parties to avoid unprofessional, unsafe and provocative actions in north-east Syria.”

During the Syrian Civil War, which began in 2011, the US initially supplied the rebels of the Free Syrian Army with non-lethal aid (e.g. food rations and pickup trucks), but quickly began providing training, money, and intelligence to selected Syrian rebel commanders.

On 23 November 2019, the head of US Central Command stated there was no “end date” on the US’s intervention in Syria.
