Supermarkets have updated their delivery services during the coronavirus crisis. Tesco, Asda and Marks & Spencer have shared their latest updates.
Tesco
The supermarket giant has added more delivery slots to ensure all customers can get food items delivered.
In an email sent to shoppers, Tesco UK and Ireland CEO Jason Tarry urged customers to only use the service if they need to.
He said: “We now have 1.5million home delivery and Click and Collect slots available each week, and we continue to offer priority access to vulnerable customers.

“To make sure that we can help those who most need access to our online service, please shop in store if you can.”
Asda
Asda has also reported an increase in demand for delivery slots.
It has asked customers to be more flexible with the times they choose to get food delivered.
A statement said: “Our online business is growing and we do have the capacity to take on more orders.
“However, we would ask customers who can be flexible in their delivery slots to consider less popular delivery times or opt to Click and Collect.”
It has also introduced same day delivery to help shoppers get essential items within hours.
Using the online service, food items that are ordered before 12pm can be delivered from 3.30pm on the same day.
Marks & Spencer
Last month, M&S partnered with Ocado to offer its full range for delivery.
Shoppers can choose from 6,000 M&S food products as well as clothing and home items for the first time.
While Ocado offers speedy delivery, Marks & Spencer has asked customers to be patient with their orders.
A post on the M&S website stated: “Please note, the last few months have been particularly busy at Ocado.
“While every effort is being made to increase capacity, the extra demand may mean you won’t be able to secure a delivery slot straight away.”
