Who did Frances Barber play in Death in Paradise?

Frances Barber starred in the first-ever season of Death in Paradise in 2011.

She appeared in episode two of the popular series, titled Wicked Wedding.

Wicked Wedding saw DI Richard Poole adjust to his new role of Police Chief on the island of Saint-Marie.

In what would be his second murder case, Poole found himself investigating the murder of a bride, who had been shot dead with a spear gun.

Poole and his partner, Camille Bordey, soon learn Lisa, the victim, was an heiress, due to inherit a large sum of money upon getting married.

They also suspected she may have been having an affair with the best man or the diving instructor.

Poole and Bordey were faced with finding Lisa’s killer and determining whether it was a rime of greed or passion.

Barber took on the role of Diana Watson, Lisa’s stepmother who tried to console her father, Mike (played by Robert Pugh).

Frances Barber is an English actress from Wolverhampton, England.

Barber’s career spans three decades and includes stage, film and television.

She has received Olivier Award nominations during her career, for her performances in Camille and Uncle Vanya on stage.

Most recently, Barber starred as Billie Trix in Musik which ran at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in 2019 before moving to Leicester Square Theatre, London.
