Chelsea player ratings vs Man Utd: Edouard Mendy good but Kai Havertz bad

Chelsea played out a drab draw with Manchester United as both sides took home a solitary point. Neither side created anything cutthroat and Frank Lampard won’t be happy.

After nearly passing the ball into his own net, Edouard Mendy pulled off some brilliant saves to twice deny Marcus Rashford and Juan Mata.

Chelsea, however, struggled going forward and to break down United.

Lampard, though, will be happy with his side’s clean sheet.

Mendy – 7
Nearly passed the ball into his own net but made up for it with fine saves to deny Mata and Rashford.

R. James – 7
Contained Shaw and James brilliantly. Quick, strong and steady in that right wing-back position.

Azpilicueta – 6
Mopped up everything behind James brilliantly and gave a mature performance in defence.

Thiago Silva – 7
Classy and reassuring performance from the veteran. Lampard will be demanding more of the same.

Zouma – 6
Played well alongside Thiago Silva and will be learning tons in the Brazilian’s shadow.

Chilwell – 5
Quiet game for Chilwell who was prevented from showing his usual creative license.
