Smith has been dating artist Emily Wetzel since early 2020.

The couple has managed to keep their private life out of the spotlight, so very little is known about their relationship.
However, they have posted adorable snaps of each other on their Instagram accounts over the past few months.
On July 27, 2020, Smith wished his girlfriend a Happy Birthday on his account, posting three photographs of Wetzel, including one of them together.
Smith was previously in a relationship with his Vikings co-star, Sophie Vavasseur.
In Vikings, Vavasseur played the role of Princess Ellisif, who was the obsession of King Harald (Peter Franzén).
Vavasseur is 28-year-old Irish actress from Dublin.
She is best known for her role as Evelyn in the Irish film of the same name.
Her other credits include Resident Evil: Apocalypse, Becoming Jane and Masterpiece.
Sadly, Princess Ellisif was killed off by Halfdan (Jasper Pääkkönen) in the fourth season.
Smith and Vavasseur remained together but sadly, it seems their relationship came to an end in late 2019 or early 2020.
Vavasseur and Smith posted pictures in May 2019 of them enjoying a picnic on the beach in Australia together but they have not been photographed together since.
