Dancing With The Stars: Tyra Banks makes horrifying gaffe as she announces WRONG bottom two live

Tyra Banks made a horrifying gaffe on Dancing With The Stars on Monday sending Monica Aldama off as ‘safe’ during voting, only to realize she was in the bottom two.

The 46-year-old model then had to call the Cheer star, 50, and her partner Val Chmerkovskiy, 34, back to the stage, begging, ‘Please come back. Please have Monica come back. There’s been an error in our control room, but we’re making it happen.’

‘This is live TV, right?’ Tyra covered. ‘This is the craziness of live TV.’

‘Nobody is infallible,’ offered judge Bruno Tonioli, 64. ‘I’m sorry, guys. You know, it happened in the UK.’

‘I’m so sorry,’ Tyra told Monica and Val as they walked back out. ‘This is live TV. I was reading my cards, but my cards were wrong.’

The confusion reached a crescendo at the end of the two-hour episode as Tyra relayed the results of viewer voting and stated who was safe and those in jeopardy.

After the creator of America’s Next Top Model told the rapper Nelly, 45, he made it through, she faced Chrishell Stause, 39, Anne Heche, 51, and Vernon Davis, 36, onstage.

Tyra then skipped completely past Chrishell and said that Nelly’s departure meant Anne and Vernon had the least amount of votes.

Seconds later, she realized her mistake, saying, ‘There’s actually been an error. I’m looking right now, and we have three couples. So we need to clarify this for a second.’

That’s when she had to bring back Monica, which she did with a cry of, ‘We’re all human.’

Tyra has been criticized this season for her show performance, but handled herself like a pro.

She later took to social media and chalked it up to being a live production.

Tyra told Us Weekly last week that she takes criticism in stride after being scrutinized for her performances on DWTS.

‘Every host messes up. It’s just normal. It’s live TV. If it wasn’t live, there would be no mess-ups,’ she said last week after Disney Night. ‘Even on America’s Next Top Model, I would mess up and tell my editors to leave it in. That’s what makes things human and makes like live’.

But Anne also garnered a great deal of respect for her moving paso doble to Katy Perry’s Rise.

In a confessional, Anne said she related to the lyrics about triumphing over ‘vultures’ in one’s life, recalling the challenges she’d faced when dating Ellen DeGeneres from 1997 to 2000.

Anne said she was told if she took Ellen to the premiere of her 1997 film Volcano, she would lose her 20th Century Fox contract.

She recalled Ellen urging her to listen to the studio, but she refused and took Ellen anyway.

‘I was ushered out by security before the movie even ended and told I was not allowed to go to my own after-party for fear that they would get pictures of me with a woman,’ Anne revealed.

She realized she’d been naïve to ignore Ellen’s advice, noting ‘the stigma attached to that relationship was so bad that I was fired from my multimillion-dollar picture deal, and I did not work in a studio picture for 10 years.’

‘The multicolored warrior is strong and proud and stands for what she believes,’ Bruno said, as Carrie Ann added, ‘You don’t give up, and we don’t give up rooting for you.’

Asked what the performance meant to her, Anne said, ‘I feel redeemed. It has been a blessing to be on this show, and to be able to tell my story, and to be able to have a partner to tell the truth with, and learn with, and survive with.’

Tyra Banks is BLASTED on Twitter as fans react to her Dancing With The Stars host debut

Tyra Banks bravely made her debut as host of Dancing With The Stars on Monday evening during the show’s season 29 premiere.

And fans of the long-running celebrity competition series took to Twitter to ruthlessly BLAST the 46-year-old supermodel’s performance.

A majority of the tweets desperately begged for the return of veteran hosts Tom Bergeron, 65, and Erin Andrews, 42, who were shockingly canned in July.

Bergeron had been with the Dancing With The Stars franchise since it launched in 2005, while his former co-host Andrews joined the show in 2014.

In an interview with Extra earlier this month, Andrews revealed that her and Tom’s unexpected dismissals from Dancing With The Stars ‘was a surprise’ and that hers came via phone call.

Though there was never a direct reason given as to why the pair were axed, Valerie Bruce, general manager of LA Productions, stated that Dancing With The Stars was being taken ‘in a new creative direction’ for season 29.

She also offered her, ‘sincere thanks to Tom and Erin, whom we will always consider part of the Dancing with the Stars’ family.’

The pair were let go just days before DailyMail.com exclusively revealed that Tyra Banks would be taking over their hosting gig.

‘Can Tyra please be the first one sent home?’ wrote one fan, referencing to the series’ nerve-wracking weekly eliminations.

Another Twitter user declared that replacing Tom and Erin with Tyra ‘replaced the heart of the show.’

‘Nothing against her, but it just sounds so off when you hear her voice instead of Tom Bergeron’s. On a year where people WANT comfort of the familiar… it’s just a really poor decision,’ they explained.

One clearly unimpressed DWTS viewer labeled Tyra as the ‘most hated woman on DWTS this season,’ above the polarizing Tiger King star Carole Baskin.

Despite the online backlash, Banks looked in her element as she guided the viewers, judges, dancers, and competitors through Monday night’s season premiere.

‘Whoo! Oh, my gosh, I can’t believe it. I’m finally here. My family and I have been fans of this show since day one. And look, mama, I’m in the ballroom!’ shouted Banks excitedly into her microphone as she entered the ballroom.

‘Welcome to Dancing with the stars! Right here, right now!’

Tyra rocked a voluminous head of curls and a dramatic face of feature flattering makeup as she reacted animatedly to the show’s prerecorded applause.
