The Chase contestant apologises to Bradley Walsh after 'inexplicable' error

The penultimate episode of The Chase saw four more contestants take on Shaun ‘The Dark Destroyer’ Wallace. Joining Bradley Walsh in the studio were Rif, Tia, Keh, and Lee, all hoping to take a share of the jackpot. But when it was Tia’s turn at the table, she was forced to apologise for a huge blunder which left the host dumbfounded.

Rif was up first and he managed to secure six right answers in his cash builder.

Despite being tempted with £26,000, he stuck to his winnings and faced Shaun.

Following a slow, but steady round, he added £6,000 to the jackpot and made it home and dry.

Tia was the second to face The Chaser and she secured £5,000 in the quick fire question round.

As for how the latter contestants did, Keh only answered two questions correctly and failed to make it back to her teammates.

Things did look up when Lee faced Shaun, but he made the wrong move when it came to deciding which offer to go for.

He accumulated £3,000 in his cash builder, and was given a -£1,000 or a whopping £49,000.

Ruling out the high offer immediately, Lee said he couldn’t disappoint his Nan by taking the low and stuck with £3,000.

That one step closer to home could’ve really made a difference as it wasn’t long before Shaun caught him.

With £11,000 to play for, Tia and Riff went into the final round.

With a two-step head start and 13 answered correctly, Bradley said the team was four short of winning.

And Shaun caught them with 20 seconds to spare.

The Chase airs weekday evenings at 5pm on ITV.
