Kate Beckinsale Reveals Her Own Story Of Miscarriage Following Chrissy Teigen And John Legend’s Loss

In defense of Chrissy Teigen and John Legend amid their miscarriage news, Kate Beckinsale came forward with her own experiences with losing a pregnancy. The 34-year-old model announced that she and her husband lost their child, Jack, after struggling in her pregnancy.

According to Page Six, there were people online who took issue with the post which featured Chrissy alone on the hospital bed with a black-and-white background. The 47-year-old actress, Beckinsale, shared that just a few years in the past, she lost a baby as well.

She claimed there was no right way of dealing with it because it was “unimaginable.” Beckinsale kicked off her post by saying that she noticed some people criticizing Chrissy and John for sharing their unfortunate moment on social media.

I’ve noticed people criticizing @chrissyteigen for sharing deeply intimate photos of the loss of her baby. As if there’s some protocol during soul-scouring calamity that, if not observed, emboldens people who do not know her or her family to say how she should be handling the unimaginable. Years ago, I lost a baby at 20 weeks. I had managed to keep my pregnancy quiet and I absolutely collapsed inside and no one would have known. There is grief, shame and shock so often that come with an experience like this, plus the heartbreak of your body continuing, after the loss, to act as if it had a child to nurture. Your milk comes in, with no one to feed. It can be the loneliest, most soul destroying period of time, particularly if you are not in the position of having an emotionally connected, supportive partner like Chrissy has. I think it’s an honour to be allowed into another persons grief, especially with a subject like this which so often puts a woman into that hall of mirrors state of life continuing as if the world hasn’t, for you ,come to a bloody and terrible halt. Sending so much love to the Legend family, but also so much to the women and couples who have kept it quiet and suffered. I know there are so many. Thank you @chrissyteigen for making sure it is abundantly clear how devastating this is, and how life changing it can be without support. Let’s let the grieving decide what’s right for them. Send support or keep quiet . This is a really hard time to bear .Blessings and hugs to all x

Beckinsale argued that there was no proper way to deal with the loss, and social media users certainly didn’t have the right to put both of them on blast for sharing their experience online. Beckinsale says that just a few “years ago,” she also lost a baby at 20 weeks.

Kate said she kept it to herself and it was really hard on her. No one would have known about her emotional struggle. According to the actress, she started to get breast milk not long after she lost her baby and it made her feel incredibly lonely.

Especially when not having a supportive partner the way that Chrissy has. Beckinsale went on to say thank you to Beckinsale for sharing her grief and giving other women out there who struggle the power to keep going despite the odds.

As most know, this wouldn’t be the first time an actor came out in support of Chrissy and John. Terry Crews, as well, took to his Twitter account this week to say that he and his wife once lost a child as well, although, not everyone was happy with him.

The actor was put on blast for supposedly “making it all about him.” Others noted, however, that Terry did so in a seemingly non-self-involved way.
