Kevin Clifton, 37, responded to a fan who shared their disappointment that he would not be appearing in the competition this series. The former ballroom champion said his decision to walk away from Strictly Come Dancing at the beginning of the year came “at the right time” as he looked to explore new career opportunities.
Kevin initially tweeted: “Ok it’s Best of @bbcstrictly Blackpool week tonight!
“What’s your fave dance from Blackpool week?” He asked.
The fan replied: “Anything of yours, Kevin. Really Disappointed that you’ve been given the boot from ‘Strictly’.” (sic)
Kevin typed back: “Haha. Don’t worry I wasn’t given the boot mate.
“I just decided it was maybe the right time for something new and decided to leave this year.”
