Polio campaigners battle misinformation and distrust

In Pakistan, the first nationwide polio vaccination campaign since the start of the coronavirus pandemic is under way.

Pakistan and neighbouring Afghanistan are the only two countries in the world yet to eliminate wild polio, after Nigeria was declared free from the disease last month.

Efforts by health workers in Pakistan have been hampered not only by Covid-19 but also by conspiracy theories.
