Lil Tecca Nails Platinum Status With Only One Feature – Just Narrowly Making It Into The ‘No Features’ Club

Lil’ Tecca recently made it to platinum status with one of his latest projects, however, he didn’t achieve the “no-features” club which Hot New Hip Hop says has become synonymous with J. Cole.

The outlet claims that J. Cole is one of the few rappers in the game who manages to go platinum without using the names and bars from other artists. Hip hop fans know that features are a regular part of the rap game, with many rappers collaborating with up and coming stars or established legends for clout.

According to Hot New Hip Hop, Russ is the only other rapper to achieve the honor since 2018, but Kevin Gates managed to do the same thing with his 2016 record, Islah. The record went double platinum without including features.

Reportedly, Lil’ Tecca just dropped a brand new album, Virgo World, and the record features a ton of features. However, the LP doesn’t include his big hit, “Ransom,” and some are wondering if the record will fare as well as the hype would have it.

Either way, Lil’ Tecca is just starting his career and he’s incredibly young, so he has a lot of time to really make things work. According to Uproxx, Lil’ Tecca and Lil’ Uzi Vert recently teamed up for a brand new music video in support of Virgo World.

Produced by TXBITHETEENVGER, C4Bombs, and BRackz, the song features Lil’ Tecca and Lil’ Uzi Vert shouting out to a number of pop culture phenomenons including Fortnite and even MDMA.

The outlet says the new video matches the light-hearted vibe of the track, including images of the pair of rappers dancing in front of a group of women dressed up as B-movie space aliens. The women in the video sport green hair and specialized makeup.

According to Uproxx, Lil’ Tecca’s debut album, Virgo World, is the first record he has ever released with Republic Records. Its release comes after his massive hit song, “Ransom,” which was on top of the charts for weeks.
