Kate Garraway: Smooth Radio host is pretty on pink on return to work as she thanks fans

Good Morning Britain host Kate Garraway looked radiant when she was pictured in central London today. The TV and radio presenter was snapped making her way to the Global Radio headquarters in the sunshine, ahead of her return to the airwaves.

Kate, 53, looked pretty in pink when she arrived to present her weekday show.

She took back the reins of her midday programme from Myleene Klass, who has been holding down the fort over the summer.

Mum-of-two Kate took a leave of absence back in March when her husband Derek Draper contracted coronavirus.

She recently revealed that things were still “hugely challenging”, but was “delighted” to be returning to present her weekday show, which airs from 10am till 1pm.

Following her return to work, Kate took to social media to thank her co-workers and fans for their support and “lovely messages”.

In a short video, which she shared with her 942,000 Instagram followers, the presenter could be seen back in the hot seat.

“Back on @smoothradio! Missed you,” she captioned her post.

“Thanks so much for all your lovely messages, hope you are loving the great songs!” she continued.

In an earlier interview Kate said: “I’m delighted to be returning to my morning show on Smooth and to my Global family who have been a big support to me.”

She went on to say: “Things are still hugely challenging and a long way from being normal, but I’d like to think that this will give Derek yet another opportunity to hear my voice as well as many of the songs we both love.”

Kate’s husband of 15 years remains in hospital after walking up from an induced coma in July.

The couple have two children together; Darcey 14, and Billy, 11.
