Friends Reunion Faces New Problems Due To Ellen DeGeneres’ Workplace Scandal

The Friends reunion is still in the developmental stage, Page Six reported this week. As most know, the date of the Friends reunion has already been postponed to another year on account of the coronavirus pandemic, and now, the network has encountered yet another problem.

Previously, Ellen DeGeneres was slated to be the reunion’s host, however, the television mainstay was called out for supposedly creating an environment of toxicity and abuse.

DeGeneres was all over the headlines over the past few months after dozens of her employees and former staff members called out executive producers, as well as Ellen herself, for fostering a horrible working environment.

During an episode of Andy Cohen’s radio show on SiriusXM, Andy Cohen Live, Cohen asked Lisa Kudrow if there was a host for it. He asked, “did I hear that Ellen DeGeneres was hosting the reunion?”

You can check out part of this interview below:

The 57-year-old said to the television show host that she doesn’t know what’s going on with the hosting duties, because she doesn’t believe it has even been decided yet.

As it was previously reported, Ellen, 62, was given the role as the host of the anticipated reunion, a job in which she would conduct interviews with all of the cast members, including David Schwimmer, Matthew Perry, Matt LeBlanc, Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, and Kudrow.

But due to the allegations against her, it’s currently unclear whether she’ll be taking on the position after all. A Twitter thread in May picked up in popularity in which it was argued that Ellen was incredibly mean to people in real life.

And then in July, top staff members had been accused of abusing some of the employees. Three of them were fired in August. Moreover, Mariah Carey came forward in the aftermath to say she felt pressured to drink champagne to prove she wasn’t pregnant during a 2008 appearence on the series.

Either way, it’s been reported that Ellen plans on addressing the claims against her when her show goes back on the air on the 21st of September. It’s an episode fans surely won’t want to miss.
