Emmerdale spoilers: Harriet Finch forced out of village as Bishop arrives with new vicar?

While DI Mark Malone (played by Dean Andrews) has finally vanished from Emmerdale, it seems the vicar could face similar comeuppance. Perhaps she won’t end up in a newly dug coffin, but being shunned from the Dales could be on par for someone who is meant to be an upstanding member of the community. Will fans of the ITV soap see Harriet Finch (Katherine Dow Blyton) forced to leave?

Express.co.uk spoke to the actress who plays Harriet about her storyline.

When asked whether she could reconcile with her position of being a woman of cloth, Katherine said: “I think it’s a real tough one.

“I always say she’s not a saint, she’s a vicar, so she does make mistakes.

“I think she does strive to do the best and see the best in people.

“So, nothing that she’s doing is malicious, it’s just foolish,” the actress added.

“She will be praying all the time for some guidance on how to make the decisions.

“Her faith is so important to her, but she’s making mistakes and that’s just human.”

As for the impact of Harriet’s affair with Malone on her day to day life, Katherine said: “She’s really juggling.

Within a matter of months, it is likely, several residents will find out about Harriet’s liasons with the corrupt cop.

And should the Bishop get wind of what Harriet has been up to, it will only be a matter of time until a secondment will be arranged for the vicar.

Could Emmerdale find their Sunday service being hosted by someone else?

Meanwhile, what is Will Taylor (Dean Andrews) going to do when he finds out his fiance has been covorting with the enemy?

He is under the impression Harriet is a decent woman, yet for many months, she has been having an affair with his rival.

The actor recently said he has another project in the pipeline, so a brief absence from the ITV soap may be on the cards.

This could be the perfect way for Will to leave the village for some headspace.

Emmerdale airs Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 7pm on ITV.
