Joe Swash addresses court battle with ex Emma over their son: 'Best money I've ever spent'

Joe Swash, 38, has spoken out about his court battle with his ex-girlfriend Emma Sophocleous over their son Harry. Joe and Emma were engaged and dated for three years from 2005.

However, they split in 2008 when their baby, Harry, was just seven months old.

Joe, who is now in a relationship with Stacey Solomon, 30, opened up about the difficulties involved in his separation from Emma, but also insisted their court battle was “the best money” he ever spent.

The Dancing on Ice winner addressed the situation while discussing his life leading a blended family with Loose Women panellist Stacey.

The couple share Rex, one, while Stacey also has Zachary, 12, and Leighton, seven, from previous relationships.

He said during an appearance on the Step Life podcast: “With me and Harry, it was tricky with his mum.

“We had to go to court and stuff like that. So in hindsight is it’s a great thing, but yeah, me and Hal, it’s been a strange one for Hal, he’s had to do a lot of adapting.

“I do feel quite sorry for Hal for what he’s had to go through.”

Joe continued: “It’s just one of those things, his mum and I weren’t agreeing on certain things and we had to go to court.

“You know, I always said to my mum, when I was in court fighting for Hal, I wouldn’t want to spend my money on anything else apart from wanting to see my kid.

“And it’s the best money I’ve ever spent.”

Speaking about his blended family with Stacey, Joe admitted it can be “tricky” at times.

He divulged: “We couldn’t be more blended if you tried. And like you said, it is tricky. It’s not straightforward.

“There’s lots of people to take into consideration. Some of them people might not be as reasonable as other people, you know, so it’s a constant one field of trying to juggle and keep all the parties happy.”

Elsewhere, Joe revealed he and Stacey would be “tempted” to expand their family after she admitted to feeling “broody” while browsing through baby clothes in a shop.

After being quizzed on whether he and Stacey would like to have a baby girl by OK! Magazine, Joe divulged: “I think that would be the biggest temptation for Stacey and I.

“Not that having another boy would be bad, because we just love kids and love to add to our family.”
