Homes Under The Hammer presenter Martel Maxwell left confused by show announcement

Martel Maxwell, best known for presenting the TV show Homes Under The Hammer, took to Twitter and addressed claims that she will be fronting a brand new television programme. It comes after the 43-year-old was congratulated by a pal on her “new hosting role”.

In view of 11,000 followers, Martel retweeted a post which claimed she was presenting a new series called Mortgage Mountains.

Accompanied with a snap of the BBC presenter, it was captioned: “NEW SERIES. Martel Maxwell hosts MORTGAGE MOUNTAIN. Four players face a gruelling assault course challenge – the winner gets accepted for a first-time mortgage with a £10k deposit! Starts Monday 14 September at 2:45pm.”

While Martel admitted the show wasn’t a “bad idea”, she denied she was taking part in the programme.
