Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is making sure to not make the same mistake he did with the FA Cup trophy, as he has securely fastened the Community Shield with a seat-belt.

Arsenal’s star striker accidentally dropped the FA Cup on his way to the trophy lift a few weeks ago, and this time posted a joking video to his Instagram story after their win over Liverpool in the season opener.

‘Guys, very, very important, the seat belt, it’s important,’ he said in between laughs, showing the Community Shield strapped in next to him on the team bus. ‘Then I can’t drop it!’

Aubameyang was once again on the score sheet, and has been instrumental to the Gunners’ success in recent times.

Following up on his double at Wembley against Chelsea in the FA Cup final, he scored a fantastic effort from outside the box against Liverpool to give his side the lead.

Takumi Minamino levelled the scores and sent the game to a penalty shootout, which Arsenal won after a missed effort from Rhian Brewster.

The Arsenal captain then stepped up once again to score the winning spot kick.

The drama didn’t stop there for Aubameyang, as it appeared he didn’t get a winners’ medal for his efforts at Wembley.

Right before the trophy lift, the Arsenal players went to collect their medals, with Granit Xhaka appearing to take the last one remaining, leaving Aubameyang’s neck bare.

With his customary huge grin, he seemed to wave away the apology from the official, and made his way over to his team-mates with the trophy in his hands.

Arsenal fans are hoping the club will be able to finalise a contract extension which will keep him at the Emirates for three more seasons.
