Australia’s Victoria state reports 73 new coronavirus cases, 41 deaths

SYDNEY (Reuters) – Australia’s Victoria state – the epicentre of the country’s COVID-19 outbreak – said on Monday it has detected 73 new infections in the past 24 hours, while the death toll rose by 41.

Australia has now recorded nearly 26,000 COVID-19 infections and 652 fatalities from the virus – far fewer than other developed countries.
