While the Down Detector outage map says the PSN server issues are affecting PS4 gamers in the UK, US and Europe.
Down Detector is an independent outage monitor which tracks social mentions to detect when popular services go offline.
At the time of writing Down Detector UK has registered a peak of over 2,000 reports of PSN down.
While Down Detector has received a large amount of PSN down reports, the official PlayStation Network status website says all services are currently “up and running”.
But the PSN status page does have a message on it which says: “You may experience somewhat slower or delayed game downloads because we’re working with ISPs to manage download traffic.
“We believe it’s important to do our part to address internet stability concerns as an unprecedented number of people are staying home and practicing social distancing. We appreciate the support and understanding from our community.”
As of yet the official Ask PlayStation or Ask PlayStation UK Twitter pages haven’t commented on the latest PSN server issues that are affecting players.
But the @AskPlayStation account not too long ago tweeted a link to a trouble shooting page for PSN issues which you can visit by clicking here.
As the PSN server issues hit PlayStation users took to social networking site Twitter to report the problems they were facing on PS4.
One tweeted: “PSN is down. Nice”.
Another posted: “Good timing… the whole PSN is down”.

And another wrote: “Been sitting at this screen without moving for ten minutes… why you gotta do me like that #Sony, I thought we was cool. #psndown #playstation”.
Some PS4 gamers on Twitter have reported that restarting their PlayStation has helped resolve the PSN down issues.
Doing that allowed them to install a new system update patch which reportedly has been deployed today, with that update the 7.55 system download.
