Fans of German television show Biohackers will be please to hear Netflix is bringing the show back. The show only landed recently but it appears to have made a strong impact on the streamer with such a quick renewal. Express.co.uk has the lowdown on the forthcoming run of Biohackers.

When will Biohackers season 2 be released?

Netflix has just confirmed it has renewed German drama series Biohackers the go-ahead for a second season.

The show only premiered on Netflix on August 20 before the American streaming platform giving it a swift renewal.

Depending on the constraints of filming created by the coronavirus pandemic, the series could be coming out in August 2021.

As per Netflix Originals, all episodes will be dropping in one go for viewers to binge.

According to Deadline, filming on season two will be taking place in the coming months in Freiburg and Munich.

This means, the show could be returning sooner rather than later.

Creator Christian Ditter told the publication: “It’s great that Biohackers will continue.

“Thematically, t.he second season will also deal with moral and ethical issues around biohacking and genome editing.”

What will happen in Biohackers season 2?

The show follows a group of genius students at a German university involved in ground-breaking biohacking technology.

Netflix executive Rachel Eggebeen said: “Given the overwhelmingly positive response to the first season, we are thrilled to head into another season of Biohackers with Christian Ditter, Claussen+Putz and the two outstanding actresses, Luna Wedler and Jessica Schwarz in the leading roles.

“We are incredibly excited to find out how things will continue between Mia and Prof. Tanja Lorenz.”

Judging by this, viewers will be taken deeper into this ethically murke area of science and cutting-edge technology.

Is there a trailer for Biohackers season 2?

As the renewal has only just been announced, it’s far too early for any teasers or trailers.

Netflix will be dropping any promo footage closer to the time of release which is likely to be next year.

This recommission comes as the Germany television industry is proving popular with the likes of Dark, Das Boot and Unorthodox.

Horror series Hausen is also going to be coming out soon and promises to bring the scares.
